Timothy O. Haggett, Founder and CEO of Knovation

An engineering foundation

A graduate of Brigham Young University in Design Engineering, Tim began his career with Westinghouse Electric. More than 15 years in an engineering and technology environment established a technical foundation and an appreciation for solving complex problems.

1997 · From engineering to entrepreneurship

Tim co-founded Mundo Communications Network, providing domestic and international long-distance services to Hispanic communities in the United States. Its brands included El Toro. Mundo later expanded into prepaid wireless before being acquired by Coinstar in 2005.

2005 · Building the prepaid business

Tim joined Coinstar as Vice President of Sales, continuing to develop the prepaid business and its distribution relationships. When InComm Payments acquired Coinstar’s prepaid assets in 2010, he transitioned with the business.

2010 · Developing indirect distribution

During 13 years as Senior Director of Sales at InComm, Tim was responsible for indirect relationships with brokers and resellers bringing products to market. His experience included wireless top-up, gift cards, prepaid financial products, and digital and gaming products.

Understanding the entrepreneur

Much of Tim’s career involved working with distributors and first-generation entrepreneurs serving multicultural communities across the United States. Those relationships reinforced the importance of trust, understanding the customer and local market knowledge.

2023 · Creating Knovation

After retiring from InComm, Tim founded Knovation to apply his accumulated experience and industry relationships to new opportunities. His interests include mobile commerce, alternative payments, digital assets and applied artificial intelligence.
